The Golden State Warriors took a 2-0 series lead over the Cleveland Cavaliers as they beat them 122-103 with a dominant performance, better than in game one when they just about got over the line.  Steph Curry set a new NBA finals record three pointers in a game as he sunk nine of them to erase the record set by Ray Allen back in 2010 for the Boston Celtics.  Curry ended up with 33 points.  Kevin Durant also chipped in with 29 points, while Klay Thompson added 20. Curry is an early contender for this NBA Finals MVP.

LeBron James scored 29 points with 13 rebounds but the problem is his supporting case continually fluffed their lines unlike the Warriors. JR Smith who was involved in the time cock up in game one was jeered with ironic cheers by the Warriors crowd at the Oracle Centre as they chanted “MVP”. It appeared to get to him as he managed to score just 5 points.

Game three is on Wednesday (June 6) and is now a must win for the Cavs at home just to stay in the series. If they lose that game there is the possibility that they could be swept or lose in five games.  However if LeBron, somehow manages to haul his team over the line in this series then he might just enter the conversation as Greatest Of All Time along with Michael Jordan.
