THE SWANSEA manager Paul Clement has hailed Tammy Abraham as a Premier League Striker. This was after he scored his first Premier League goal in their 0-2 win over Crystal Palace.  The result was also the Swan’s first League win of the season. The manager also reserved some praise for Ghanaian international Jordan Ayew who got the second goal, which wrapped up the points.

Clement said:” Questions were asked about us not creating goals but in the last two games we have scored six. Jordan and Tammy have backed up their midweek goals today. Leroy Fer also got two in midweek

At this level there is a lot of scrutiny when you do not score in two games. He (Tammy) is a goal scorer who is new to this level and he is very happy he made that contribution today.”

He added: “I think we had the reaction in midweek against MK Dons and we have to work on the second half today.

Palace on the other hand are still searching for their first point of the season having lost their two previous games. They are yet to score a league goal this season and have conceded six. The manager Frank De Boer was not impressed.  He said:” The thing I was most disappointed about was that we did not see the courage. We only saw it when we went two down. This is the Palace I want to see.”

The Eagles are missing their star man Wifried Zaha and the manager was asked when he is likely to return and he said: “I cannot give an update now. If you miss Rueben

(Loftus-Cheek) and Wilf it is big. Wilf was the most impressive player in pre-season. I have no clue right now how long they will be. Wilf has just started the recovery/rehab. I am positive about Rueben.

“Right now the international break is the best thing to happen. We will get two weeks to train. I can imagine for Huddersfield who are top of the league saying we want to play again on Wednesday.”
